A Jewish perspective on the preciousness of human life

“Judaism values every moment of life,” begins Rabbi Ze’ev Smason and co-author Barbara A. Olevitch.  “One who is dying is regarded as a living person in all respects, and every moment of his life is of infinite value, regardless of his condition.”  They offer a perspective on important life topics, such as physician-assisted suicide.  “Every moment of life is of infinite value.  In the secular world they say, ‘Time is money.’  From the Torah perspective we say, ‘Time is life.’”
