Five Wishes: Wish 3 and Comfort

The importance of effective pain management, both for the patient as well as for the family
Aging with Dignity founder Jim Towey sits down with psychotherapist Margaret McGahon to discuss Five Wishes, the document created by Jim in 1997 that has since become America’s most preferred advance directive.

Jim and Margaret discuss Wish 3, “My Wish for How Comfortable I Want to Be.”  They talk about the importance of effective pain management, both for the patient as well as for the family.  Wishes 3-5 are what make Five Wishes unique among all advance directives.  Next week: Wish 4.
