Hope Today is a pilot project that began in 2005, providing hands-on help to vulnerable elderly in two rural Florida counties. The goal of the project is to combat loneliness among shut-ins and the solitary. We spoke with Ms. Grace, an Apalachicola, FL resident who has benefited from Hope Today’s service and the work of its volunteers. We also spoke with Robert, a volunteer with Hope Today, who worked with other volunteers to assist Grace and her husband by building a ramp outside their house.
