‘Made Me Feel Worthless’

Canadian hospital reportedly offered euthanasia to patient suffering from suicidal thoughts.

Faithwire editor Tré Goins-Phillips reports on Kathrin Mentler, 37, a Canadian woman who went to the hospital seeking help with suicidal thoughts she was having.  She was told by hospital staff there were no beds available for her and that she should expect an extended wait before being seen by a psychiatrist in an outpatient capacity.  Mentler says that shortly thereafter a clinician asked if she had considered the country’s euthanasia program, MAID, which stands for “Medical Assistance in Dying.”  “That made me feel like my life was worthless or a problem that could be solved if I chose MAID, she said.
